“We used MDSLink’s MaGiC SFPs to deliver broadband throughout a historic multi-dwelling building serving low-income seniors and individuals with disabilities. Rewiring the property would have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and simply wasn’t viable. MaGiC SFPs allowed us to reuse the building’s existing coax infrastructure, which ultimately made the entire project possible.
Performance has been exceptional. Latency and bandwidth are effectively on par with Ethernet, speed tests immediately reach the subscriber’s provisioned rate, and we’ve found the platform to be genuinely gigabit-capable. The ability to operate through existing coax splitters has also been extremely useful in a real-world MDU environment.
We’ve been equally impressed with MDSLink’s support. When we encountered an interoperability issue with a new MikroTik CPE model, MDSLink worked with us remotely and developed a firmware change to resolve it, even though the underlying issue was actually on the CPE side. They were responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in making the deployment successful.
Today, the project is helping us provide affordable 100/100 Mbps Internet service to more than 120 households, including dozens of residents who previously had no home Internet access. MaGiC gave us a practical way to bring modern broadband into a building where conventional rewiring would have been prohibitively expensive.”
